One of our most scenic trails, the Owl Creek trail connects Aspen to Snowmass and is the home of the famous Owl Creek Chase. This trail provides challenging climbs and steep descents along with some of the best views in the valley.
Parking is located at either end of the trail at the Snowmass XC Center and the Aspen Cross Country Center, or at intermediate points along the trail at the Aspen Recreation Center, the base of Tiehack on the Buttermilk Ski Area, West Buttermilk Road, or at the Tom Blake Trailhead in Snowmass.
RFTA is a great way of shuttling the Owl Creek Trail. The Snowmass Bus runs multiple times an hour to and from Aspen and is free. More information here.
